The following proposal aims to transform the ARK Ecosystem into an art experience in which data from blockexplorer, current ARK token price and transactions gets converted into an generative audible environment. The result will be an installation that is ready to show in different locations to connect with people that are not familiar with ARK yet.

The appearance of the installation is reduced to elements that contain the devices and displays and speaker. Overall the experience will be quite futuristic as material like wire and technological devices will be visible while the sound is audible within the space through a multi channel installation of speakers.

The funding would make it possible to work on the progress, from digital content and code creating to real object and sound equipment research. The final result will be an installation that is ready to exhibit in different locations like museums, conferences and so on, all around the globe with devices that only need WIFI to get started.

No material is required as I'll make use of the digital data available on several sites. Other devices and speaker will be bought with the funding and stay within the installation setup that is will be shipped from events to exhibitions.

Cost-benefit analysis

The funding is on the one hand a compensation for the hours of work, while on the other hand material like sound equipment, raspberryPi and others will be like 1/3 of the total budget.

The benefit in relation to the costs is the experience that the installation will create, as it makes it possible to connect with people that are not into crypto and the ARK ecosystem yet. Making use of sound, material and sound specific characteristics, the installation builds a bridge between the technology and the people that will use it in the future.

Launch Plan

The installation is build by myself (M.A as Intermedia Designer and a background in Fine Arts) so that the process will take an estimated time of 6 months. First three months are to work with the connection of data to sound, building prototypes and adjusting elements that will be visible in the installation. Also mockups and sketches will be made during this period and can be presented and discussed from time to time.

After that, the final installation will be build to document it with pictures, video and sound recording so that applications for further events and exhibitions can be send out.

Additional Information

Having a background in sound design and art installation (M.A), while also an interest in making the ongoing processes of our everyday lifes visible, my goal is it to transform the ARK ecosystem into a mysterious combination of data and sound that awakes curiosity. In 2014 I developed an art installation about the topic of surveillance that got exhibited in national as well international events (Germany, Ireland, France). Two images of different installations made by me are attached, please also have a look at my website www (dot) davidebner (dot) de for further impressions.

Art has the power to connect with people that might not be open to the crypto/blockchain space and can give impulses to spread information. Even in an abstract way of presenting the ARK ecosystem in an art installation, there will be curious visitors that get a first connection with the topic.

Absurd price to value ratio. We don't fund art projects generally, unless the marketing aspect is strong. The cost-benefit does not seem substantial enough to warrant approval. This "audible activity" piece already exists for BTC on many websites, and can be created for ARK for near $0 in a few hours if kept digital. I see no purpose in setting up physical installations where the cryptocurrency aspect isn't relevant.

Given an actual plan for installing this at a physical location, at a lesser price, and with an actual marketing plan, I would approve.

I don't see any real use for this. The concept is cool, however the practical side of it, in my opinion, would only offer superfluous results.

Out of Davids initial 3 proposals I liked this the most. It appears to be a "gimmick" that would 'woo' folks a various public events.

However, I feel the price is a bit high. There is also an unmentioned maintenance cost of transporting the piece from event to event and storage of the piece that can't be accounted for.

Does something like this exist already? I am not sure I am entirely grasping your vision. If anything like this exists in production currently can you provide it as an example?
