This proposal is about the element of sound – aiming to create a library with individual made samples and sounds that can be used by the community in future media like video, trailer or podcasts. That way the visual and audible appearance of ARK and ACF will stay within a certain guideline instead of changing from clip to clip.

Therefore it is necessary to create content that fits for different purposes and characteristics. The overall design of the sound will be comparable to the visual language: reduced but unique, a little spacey and all together calm but with certain highlights. The samples can be treated modular, so that it is up to the user whether to loop just one sample or to layer them if wanted. There will be longer samples and one shots to add.

The sounds will be created with different soft- and hardware: Ableton Live, PureData and an Eurorack-System. This combination provides the needed synths and effects for the upcoming ARK/ACF appearances.

No requirements needed, all software and devices are available.

Cost-benefit analysis

The costs are the compensation for the working time.

The benefit is a library for the community that can be used in a variety of projects, from video, trailer and conferences to talks in order to fulfill aspects of user experience.

Launch Plan

First I'll prepare a folder that contains different themes, each with long samples and one shots. This folder can be checked by the UX Designer Oleg Shcherbyna and last changes can be made after discussion (if wanted).

Then the final result will be sent as a folder to ACF in order to make it available for the community.

While I like this idea of a central place for users to go to to find sample audio they could pick from to make their presentation unique I believe that responsibility falls on the artist/creator to come up with those clips and samples, and is what helps make each presentation/piece unique.

Also, if this were approved it'd inevitably incur future maintenance needs, ie updating the library (so the same sounds don't keep appearing redundantly in various clips). I don't believe at this time the investment into this is worth the return.

Absurd price to value ratio.

Upon reviewing your requirements and expectations of the project, I could not find any reasonable justification of this project's funding. The concept is very nice, but the price that is pegged to it does not elicit the potential marketing and exposure that we long for.
