ArknPay is a product allowing anyone to integrate a decentralized Ark payment gateway to his system (e-commerce, video game servers, mobile apps etc...).

It is introduced as a software deployable on any PaaS or computing provider, via different templates and is linkable to the multiple Ark networks (Main, dev, test and, in the future, even bridged chains).

Through the API and the webhooks/websockets, it allows a bi-directional informations exchanges for fast payments!

It will be designed as a main dashboard where the user can configure the different connected shops, the wallets, invoicing system, stats and other options, and as multiple plugins for plug&play integrations in systems (WooCommerce, Prestashop, Shopify, Shopware etc...). A custom Ark plugin will allow us to intercept the payment information in live-time.

The system will offer a built-in testing environment for dev/test networks (faucet, wallets and stuffs)

It is security by design due to the fact that the system doesn't store any wallet informations, it's just a gateway to address value transfers.

We divided the project in 3 main sections:

- User management module
- Payment emitter and transactions forger modules
- Reporting module

The system will be developed using Laravel.

Regarding the business model: ArknPay will be totally Open-Source and free to use. We will offer an "hosted" version where the user will be able to deploy the software on our cloud, and we will take care of the maintenance, Ark nodes, scalability etc... We will charge a super little fee for that. Pricing is still being defined.

Prerequisites

Requirements

Development: We are 3 developers working full-time on that project since a month (2 back and 1 front) and a designer. We estimated that it will take 350 hours of work days based on our previous achieved projects.

Marketing: We plan to address the potential users on e-commerce software marketplaces, but also by using developers-designed ads systems like CarbonAds. We want to reserve $3k for that part.

Operational: Our project has been selected by OVH (European largest hosting provider) to join its digital Launchpad program. And so, we will have the benefit of a credit to host the first version on their cloud.

Cost-benefit analysis

ArknPay will reverse 10% of it's hosting fee to the Ark Community Fund. In the idea of giving motivation to potential developers, developing new usages that may increase the ArknPay legitimity as payment provider.

Milestones

Design

Our designer is daily working on making the state-of-the-art template for the dashboard, with great UX/UI.

Testing

We will first launch ArknPay on a testnet. As it will be open source, all unit tests and code coverage will be available.

Launch Plan

We will launch the first version with our partners by the end of June. With the idea of having the PaaS ready for the mid summer.

Support & Maintenance

Code will be 100% open source. Everyone can contribute (and is more than welcome to do so!)

Additional Information

Community Feedback

We already have a pool of 8 e-commerces and 2 big video game servers more than motivated to try our solution in place of their actual crypto payment provider.

Miscellaneous

Our project is already started and huge progresses are made each day. On top of that, we hope that the ACF will be enthusiast to help us delivering the project in time.

I can only reject since I have not seen any community discussion, nor have any clue who is behind the proposal. Please announce yourself first in Slack or on the ACF Discord.

Even though I would like to see ark as a payment option I do not think that supporting an expensive payment gateway is the way forward for the ACF.

For the reasons already given.
