To evoke nostalgia about what has happened to the ARK Ecosystem so far, I have been busy writing a concise ARK history book. I will document ARK history from early September 2016 to a date this summer (yet undecided). It will cover all major milestones such as the ARK TEC, wallet updates, exchange additions, price metrics, conference events, partnerships, ARK Core V2 and ARK Crew hires. What follows is the current contents page:

Introduction ………………………………………………… 8-9
What is ARK? .................................................... 10-11
Why Use ARK? ......................................... 12

Once complete, the book will be independently published to Amazon as both a paperback book (colour interior) and Kindle version. The Kindle version will be free and the paperback will have an associated cost for it to be printed on demand.

Prerequisites

Requirements

If possible, please consider sending a proportion of the funds straight away to cover previous costs. I want to be as fair as possible during the time before completion.

Cost-benefit analysis

I have passionately being writing blockchain history books for the last five years. Each book allows the reader to quickly learn how a particular blockchain project began and what occurred thereafter. I feel that an ARK history book will be a valuable resource for the community, especially newbies who have just joined.

The ARK history book will also increase the exposure of the project on Amazon.

Milestones

Launch Plan

I began researching the history of ARK back in May 2019. I have read through many blog articles, studied relevant documents, watched different video interviews, collected data from ARK price metric websites and gained valuable history from other sources.

I am keen to expand the series of crypto history books I have already published over the last five years. The ARK Ecosystem stands out as a very innovative and forward-thinking project.

In late June 2019, I started to write the first draft of the ARK history chapters. I anticipate 9 chapters covering ARK history from early September 2016 (ARK Ecosystem Slack was created on 11th September 2016) to a yet to be determined date during this summer.

As things currently stand, I expect to complete the book this summer. I have attached a PDF document to this proposal to show content for pages 32 to 64. The remaining 35-40 pages are currently in annotated form.

Additionally, I have attached the completed Peercoin history book (published in April 2019) for your attention.

I will continue to post regular updates of progress on the ARK Ecosystem Slack channel. It will allow the community to suggest improvements, point out obvious ommisions or correct misinformation.

Additional Information

Community Feedback

I have gained moral support from the ARK community to continue the ARK book project. It is common knowledge that writing a book is no easy task, so I admire all who take the time to give me feedback.

I would like to thank delegate Drakeler who helped with 100 ARK in July 2019. He will be the first to be listed on a special page of supporters.

  • I think the price is too high: you were looking for delegates to contribute a small donation, that IMO is not $2500;

  • We can't allow payments up front;

Drakeler Fri, Aug 2, 2019 9:34 AM

-I have the same opinion as Marc that the Price is to high. A small support would be easier to accept.

-Also read the book and its a pity there were no inside stories (from former or recent members) or impartial opinions only facts found on the internet.

-If ACF sponsered the book, we need to investigate copyright issues and fact checking.

-I still like the effort you are taking in writing a book of ARK.

Hi Tyke,

Thanks for submitting your proposal. I like the idea of the ARK Book, but as already raised from the other board members, I also have some concerns about the sum of the funding proposal and the points raised by Drakeler. Therefore my decision would be to reject the proposal from my side..

I personally would like to thank you for the effort you are putting in the development of the ARK Book and hope you'll manage to finish the book, publish it and make some revenue from it with Amazon.

Best of luck,
Espresso
